WHO WE ARE

We are the University at Buffalo Softball team, consisting of young ladies from a variety of backgrounds from across the United States. Our goal is to become the next Mid-American Conference (MAC) Champions and to compete for a birth in the Women’s College World Series. Each student-athlete contributes to the excellence of our program by excelling on the field, in the classroom and by giving back to the surrounding Western New York community. We are a high energy team that takes great pride in the support we offer our community and understand that it is a privilege to impact the lives of others in a positive way. We challenge ourselves daily and embrace the grind of individual and team practices, weight training and conditioning in order to reach our goals and ensure an exciting, successful on field product to make our alumni and friends of the program proud. We are the UB Bulls, a proud product of the community. We are looking to maintain a rich tradition of athletic and academic excellence set forth from generations of UB Softball players who came before us, laying the foundation for continued success in throughout every aspect of the UB Softball program.

WHAT ARE WE RAISING MONEY FOR

As we continue to build our program, and work towards winning MAC Championships, we remain focused on enhancing the student-athlete experience. In order to continue to take steps in the right direction, we first must know where we’ve come from. This program was Division III from 1979-1987 and transitioned to Division I in 2000. Throughout this time, the program has produced some outstanding athletes with exceptional team accomplishments. Our locker room is the sanctuary where time is spent amongst teammates, reflecting on the day to day challenges of college, being an athlete and on life itself. What better way to build a unified front than by recognizing those who have come before us. We are asking for your help to upgrade our locker room. We are aiming to create a wall of notoriety that recognizes team and individual record holders, including All-Americans, All-Region, and All-MAC award winners.

In addition, another significant part of the student-athlete experience is our annual spring break tournament. This tournament, always proves to be beneficial for team bonding and offers us an opportunity to compete against some of the nation’s elite programs. This season, we are planning on taking a six day bus trip to Washington D.C. to compete in the University of Maryland’s spring tournament. For many of us, this is a once in lifetime chance to visit the nation’s Capital. With your support, you will provide our players with an opportunity to fully experience our nation’s capital and expand our understanding of our country’s rich culture and history.

The new era of division one softball is much more advanced in strategy and competition than in years past. Player skillsets and the speed of the game has warranted Entertainment and Sports Program Network (ESPN) recognition, keeping the game relevant, exciting, and fun to watch. In order for our program to stay competitive, we have to evolve as the game does from a technology standpoint. Video analysis is an important aspect of developing skillsets and correcting fundamentals of the game. The funds raised will also aid in the purchasing of the latest equipment and computer software necessary to improve visual learning, including minuscule details of offensive and defensive mechanics.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

There are many components associated with building a championship program. Many of these elements are produced before stepping out onto the field. As we prepare to open the 2017 season, YOU now have an opportunity to directly contribute to our teams on and off the field success. Your tax deductible gift will be allocated directly to the Softball Resource Fund, which will allow YOU to immediately enhance the student-athlete experience, expand our cultural horizons, and stay current with the latest developments in technological advancements for competition. Thank you for YOUR consideration in supporting our student-athletes, with YOUR help we will collectively make the 2017 season a season to remember.
