WHO WE ARE

We are the University at Buffalo Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Team. We take great pride in pursuing excellence in the classroom and in the pool. We have a long and successful history of 68 years for the men and 46 years for the women. During this time we have produced numerous conference titles, individual and relay conference champions, NCAA qualifiers, and NCAA All-Americans while being successful in the classroom and in the work force. We are incredibly proud of the exceptional standard our alumni have set for this program. Moving forward, we are committed to continuing this tradition of excellence through hard work and dedication with the goal of delivering MAC Championships to UB.

WHY ARE WE RAISING FUNDS?

As we continue our quest to be the premier program in the Mid-American Conference, we are asking you to consider supporting a much needed facility enhancement. We are aiming to enhance the Sanford Lounge transform it into a more viable space for current student-athletes to study and gather before and after practice. In addition, the space is also a utilized when hosting recruits and their families during on campus visits. There is no doubt that the space is primed and ready to display the tradition our student-athletes of the past have shaped for our current and future student-athletes. We would like to add a Wall of Champions to recognize individual and relay Conference Champions, a trophy case to highlight the 2011 MAC Championship Team and also add additional tables and seating to the room. Last but not least, we would like to update the Sanford Lounge plaque honoring former Head Coach Bill Sanford to fit within the additions of the room. Coach Sanford masterminded the evolution of our program and spearheaded the addition of the natatorium to Alumni Arena and we feel it is fitting to honor him in the best way possible in the Sanford Lounge.

WHY WE NEED YOU?

Thank you for your consideration in supporting this impactful initiative. As we take aim at continuing to attract exceptional student-athletes to our campus, this space will not only showcase our storied past but it will provide our current student-athletes with a genuine sense of pride and appreciation for what former student-athletes have achieved during their time on campus competing for the Blue and White. Current Bulls will be surrounded by Champions and will aspire to add their names to the Wall of Champions and fill the Conference Championship trophy case.
